Less known to many UK travellers, the delightful country of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the heart of the former Yugoslavia has had something of a turbulent past. The war in the 1990s is barely believable now, when you stroll through its charming capital, Sarajevo, and over the enchanting Stari Most (Old Bridge) at Mostar that was reopened in 2004, a symbol of the country’s rebuilding following years of division. Also not to be missed is the northern city of Banja Luka, capital of the Serbian Republika Srpska entity of the country following the Dayton Accords of 1995.
Take to the rails through Europe to one of the the continent's less-visited destinations, the heart-shaped country of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its three main cities - Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar.
