Book With Peace of Mind – 2021 Booking Conditions
If you’re planning a long-awaited rail holiday with us, we want to make sure that you can book with peace of mind. That’s why we want to make it as clear as possible exactly what you can expect from us if your plans are disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, including our refund promise if we have to cancel your trip.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to helping you plan your next rail adventure!
Cancellations due to Covid-19
If we are forced to cancel your holiday because of Covid restrictions, we will offer you a full refund on your trip. We will need to cancel your trip if, 4 weeks before you are due to travel –
- The FCDO is advising against travel to your main destination*
- Your main destination is not accepting visitors from the UK
*If more than 50% of your room nights are in destinations affected by Covid-19 restrictions, we will cancel your booking. If less than 50% of the booking is affected, we will offer suggestions to reroute your trip at no extra cost.
Of course, you can also move your trip to a later date or take a credit voucher for your deposit amount which can be used as part payment for a future holiday (taken within 12 months).
You can transfer your booking to a later date or take a credit voucher with us at any time before you pay your balance (usually one month prior to departure). We won’t charge an amendment fee for this but there may be non-refundable costs incurred, such as flights and certain types of rail tickets.
There are many travel insurance providers who now offer specific Covid-19 insurance to cover you for circumstances such as having to cancel your trip because you or one of your travelling companions has the virus or is required to self-isolate. Allianz Assistance is one of the companies which offer a comprehensive policy for this.
Travel Trust Association
Your money is protected by the Travel Trust Association and can only be used to pay for elements of your booking. You can find out more about how this works on our Travel Trust Association protection page.
What happens if I want to cancel?
If you choose to cancel your booking, then our normal terms and conditions will apply. It is a condition of booking with us that you have suitable travel insurance and we can provide any supporting documentation you may need in order to make a claim.
We always strive to be as helpful as we possibly can be so you may be able to move your booking to a later date or take a credit voucher for the cost of your trip, minus any non-refundable elements which we are unable to retrieve.
